Event Details

This is a hands-on workshop that will highlight the circulation-related changes Bibliovation.  Searching for patron records has been enhanced and we will cover those changes.  From a patron record we will cover the changes to the Check Out screen, including Search to Hold, the additional messaging preferences that display in the Details screen, the enhanced information in the patrons’ Messages Queue, significant changes in the display and options for display in the Patron Accounting screen including the new Handle Refund functionality, minor changes to the Lost Items list and the updates to the various patron Histories.  We will also cover the significant changes to the Holds Queue report and the Holds Awaiting Pickup (aka Holds Shelf Action) report.  Bring along patron names/barcodes that you can use as your test patron(s) while working in the Bibliovation Sandbox.  People from the same library should sit together so they can work on the reports together.

This workshop is a “train the trainer” workshop. Each library is limited to sending no more than send two staff members to this training, unless seating is available. Staff who attend this workshop will be expected to train other staff at their library.  We will provide crosswalks (comparison documents) and other documents in assisting staff to educate their co-workers.

SCLS can only provide one wireless lab for this session so you are welcome to bring your own laptop to the session.  You can also share a laptop with a co-worker if necessary.

This workshop will be held at the Madison Public Library - Central in Community Room #302.
